We're Here...

Gavin spent some time at the beach last night before is long stay at the hospital.
Arriving at the hospital f0r Pre-Op

We arrived yesterday at 1:00 pm. We enjoyed the afternoon at the beach and had some yummy Mexican food for dinner. We checked in at the hospital at 8:30 this morning. Gavin had blood work, chest x-ray, sedated echo cardiogram, and EKG. We had a conference with the nurse practitioner and Dr. Peter. Filled out the paperwork... if I never have to sign a "consent" form again, I would be one happy mama! Then we took a tour of where we will be tomorrow. Gavin was able to come back with us to the hotel for the night. He gets to have his favorite meal for dinner... pepperoni pizza and ice cream. We will check-in at 5:30 am for surgery at 7:00.

Of course we ask for your prayers for our son. Today has been a rough day, it is starting to hit home. Thanks again for all the support. Mitzi will keep the blog updated tomorrow.

Just found your blog and will be praying for your sweet baby boy tomorrow. May the Lord guide the surgeons hands, calm your hearts, and keep Gavin peaceful during recovery!

You will of course be in my thoughts and prayers. My mommy heart just aches for you. As greatful as I am for these surgeries and the hope that it gives our children, they never get any easier. I am sure that with all of the prayers and good vibes (along with one strong boy and a great medical team) that things will go smoothly and Gavin will be home in no time. Good luck tomorrow.

I was reading my devotion this morning and couldn't help but think of you guys and wanted to share. We are praying, praying and thinking of you so much!

Exert-It is natural for us to be fearful in a "storm". The disciples had Jesus right there in the boat with them, yet they were afraid (Matt. 8:23-27) He used the calming of the storm as a lesson to show them who He was-a powerful God who also cares for them. God is always in the boat with us :)
