Hope

Today I read a post about Jack Trent... Jack has HLHS and had his Fontan on April 7th, and guess what?!? HE CAME HOME YESTERDAY!!! Such an inspiring story, especially since we will go through the same thing next week.

I wanted to give a shout out and "thanks" to all the heart moms who have reached out to me this week. I feel as if you all are my best friends (we do have some things in common)! It just amazes me because the majority of you, I have never met. There is nothing better than talking to someone who has been in the same situation. It really makes me feel ok, it gives me hope...

Next week will go great! Too bad you are not here in SLC... we could meet up for dinners in the cafeteria and hang out! We miss the Trent's since little Jack went home. He seriously looked GREAT after the Fontan, so we will pray that Gavin's goes just as well! Heart Hugs!

We are HOME and Jack is in HIS BED and playing with HIS TOYS and the most AMAZING thing- seriously, is that even a week and a half after having heart surgery, he climbs up our stairs, and doesn't breathe as hard as he did 3 weeks ago. This surgery has already proven it's worth. And tonight, it's 55 degrees right, Jack was outside in barefeet for a minute, and didn't turn ANY shade of blue. It is incredible. Good luck, we will be thinking of you...

Hello there! I found you through Kelly's blog and very glad I did. My son was born in January and has Hypoplastic Right Heart along with several other heart defects. He has already had his Norwood operation and we are waiting on scheduling to call regarding the date for his Glenn surgery. He should have it at the end of May beginning of June. I agree with this post. I feel like I have a whole new group of friends....the other heart moms. I don't know what I would do without them. I will be praying for Gavin today. I don't know him but there's no doubt he's a fighter. All these kids are. They have to be. Catherine
