Wow, I can't believe that a year ago today, Adam and I along with car loads of family and friends, were heading to
OKC. I don't think I have ever told the story of Gavin's delivery and all the events that took place....

After about an hour of sleep, Adam and I got up EARLY and headed to Oklahoma City. On the way there we video taped each other talking about our nervousness, fears, EXCITEMENT and joy of the birth of our son! Looking back at it, we were pretty scared. At the half way McDonald's we met some of our family members, our "potty break" ended up being a long stay, we'll lets just say I got "sick" from being so nervous. We parted from our family as they exited to head to our family friends house to unload their luggage.
Adam and I arrived at my
OBGYN's office, where "certain things" were done to get me prepared to be induced. After watching Adam just about pass out, I tried to help him calm down. We then headed to the hospital around 10am, I was hooked up to all the
IV'S, etc. to get the process started. We filled out all the papers and we were ready to have this baby! Ha-ha-ha-ha, needless to say, that didn't happen until well over 24hours later. I walked and walked the halls of the hospital. We watched the contractions on the monitor. After being in labor for several hours, family members rushed in to tell me they watched another woman give birth in the hallway of the hospital, I guess she got there a little late. Ha, EXACTLY what I wanted to hear, there were women outside giving birth like it was nothing and I was barely dilated after several hours!!! But I do have to say, other than that incident, family/friends were very helpful, lots of foot rubs, back rubs, arm rubs, timing contractions, walking and more walking. Contractions DEFINITELY got worse during the night, and I thought for sure, Gavin was coming any minute. Once again the doctor assured me Gavin wasn't coming anytime soon....

Gavin wants to give a shout out to his Aunt Tara, "Happy Birthday, I love you and I can't believe that we almost share a birthday, that is so cool!"
