CT Results

Instead of a MRI, they did a CT on him this morning. The results were that Gavin had trauma to his right side of his brain resulting in a mini stroke (about 10% of heart babies have a stroke during heart surgery). A neurological team and speech team will be up either tonight or in the morning to run more tests and work with him on feedings. He will more than likely have a MRI tomorrow to get more detailed results. Thank you for the prayers.

I wish I had something to say that would take all the pain and worry away. The best I can come up with is that we love you and are praying for all of you!

I agree with Kim. I can come up with no words right now that seem appropriate. We also love you and are praying for you...constantly.

I have been so sad and numb ever since I heard the latest news. I really wish I could take all your pain, hurt, and emotions away. I'm sending lots of hugs and support your way, as well as many prayers. I've already let Jon's family know the latest and they all said they immediately stopped what they were doing and prayed for you guys.

I know a great speech therapist who may have the special touch to get Gavin eating normally. Do I need to make a house call??? :)

I have some words to say and I have them from Gavin himself. This is Grandpa Joe and he has told me that he is a fighter and a tough guy and that God has a plan for him and that this whole story is going to be a testimony to be used in the Glory of God! He will be strong because he feels the love and strength of his beautiful parents and all of the prayers from friends and family. With all of our prayers and help (like Aunt Erin) we will get through this. I have seen things at this hospital that I can not begin to tell you how proud I am of how Adam, Faith, and Gavin have handle other peoples problems before their own. Even Doctor Peter needed to see Gavin's progress to give himself a lift. God is good and we will fight and pray for strength for Gavin and those who surround him with prayers, love and support. God Bless You All!

We are so sorry to hear the news. Our prayers are with you and Gavin during this time. We know things are for you and trying to understand why it all happens is a mystery within itself, but we pray that God is with you and helps Gavin with a good recovery. Most we can say is take it one day at a time.
Love,

I have to admit that Grandpa Joe's comment made me cry and really see the light of what Gavin is going through. You all are a beautiful family and continue to be in my prayers. Gavin seems like a fighter and I can't wait to see your next post because I'm sure it will be of progress.

He is a beautiful, little boy and my prayers are with your family. I think of you everyday. I've gone through so much of what you are going through right now. My daughter fought through her heart problems and I pray that Gavin does too. Please know that so many people care.
